Sick Little Girly
Tyler has a viral infection. You guys are going to love this...it is called "herpangina"...no relation to the herpes virus. It is actually caused, most often, by the coxsackie virus. I took her into the doctor late this afternoon because she had been very clingy and irritable over the last 72 hours. She had also had a high fever for about 36 hours. I had a gut feeling something wasn't right. Sure enough, we have a sick little girly on our hands. She has painful blisters on her throat and in her mouth which would explain why she has refused to eat or drink almost anything for the past three days. As a result, she has lost over 1/2 a pound since her 18 month check-up. This is a very common illness for young children and there is no treatment; the virus just has to run it's course. Unfortunately we (she) are still contagious and have to avoid contact with other small children for the next few days.

Wowzers! That sounds painful. Give her a big smooch from all of us!
Herpagina? Coxsackie? Who comes up with these names???? Maybe its me, but they both sound more like STD's, eh?
Jack had this awhile ago as well, it other common name is hand foot and mouth disease. Sucks!! Hope she feels better soon.
