Tyler Update

Tyler is now standing on her own!!!  She started to try it a few weeks ago but never seemed that interested in ditching the furniture or other "aides".  Despite all the craziness of this past week, Tyler has perfected the art of standing alone.  Sam and Abby caught her doing it yesterday while they were all playing in our kitchen.  We tried to get Ty into the kitchen, in time to see her.  He would run in and Tyler would sit down.  It almost looked like a game as we tried it numerous times.  Now that she is standing, she is testing out her little walker toys as well.  She enjoys pushing them up and down the hall.  She usually lands on her knees a few times before making it to her bedroom.

She is also trying hard to expand her vocabulary.  Her first word was "mama".  She also uses "no", "dadee" and "Mott".  My brother and his wife tried very hard to get her to say their names.  Matt and Molly are very close to Mott so I have a feeling she will be saying them in no time.  She does a lot of mimicking so we always think she is repeating what we are saying.  Our favorite is "touchdown"....we have taught her to throw her hands up when we say it.  She does it about 70% of the time.  She tries very hard to say "touchdown" as she throws her arms up.  It's pretty funny and you better believe Ty is a proud papa!

Tyler has finally figured out the camera and what to do when we say smile.  She will give the cheesiest, toothy grin ever.  She scrunches up her little nose and tilts her head up.  It's really cute and we have caught it on film, numerous times.  Even if she is distracted by something or someone else, when she hears that magic word, she will turn towards the camera and give her best smile.

Yay for Tyler! It won't be long, and you'll have a running, talking little girl!
